Glad we survived... great summary of the Rube Goldberg machine that is our infrastructure here in Texas.

What strikes me as odd is the fact that a supposed “pro business” policy has resulted in an very unreliable infrastructure, which ends up being very anti- business. Samsung shut down its plant last week. Do you think Tesla’s new plant will be okay without power and water for a week?

This should be an issue everyone, no matter their political stripe, should be able to get behind. We will see if that actually happens.

Hate to say it, but odds are on you'll revisit this ten years hence. Between now and then:

1. An SUV or at least a crossover with front-wheel drive.

2. $1K for a portable generator and keep spare petrol in the garage.

3. A wood burning fireplace or a wood pellet insert.

4. CASES of bottled water on the shelves in the garage.

5. Melted snow in the tub and buckets to help manually flush with frozen snow.
